The World Series of Poker is over (at least until November) but this does not mean that live poker action will be limited after the 65 live events that took place in Las Vegas.
Of course the amount of events might not be that big immediately after the WSOP, but things are soon to pick up in August where there is going to be a host of events taking place. Take a look at what we have to look forward to at the end of this month and throughout the next one.
Jul 28th – Sep 2nd – WPT Legends of Poker
This is the first big poker festival following the completion of the World Series of Poker. Held at the Bicycle Club in Bell Gardens, California, it will bring a selection of events culminating in the $3,700 Main Event starting on the 23rd of August.
Jul 28th – Aug 3rd – GUKPT Reading
For local players in the UK, there is also a wide selection of events taking place throughout Britain. The first of those is the first of three GUKPT events, with this one being in Reading. There is just one event, the £550 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event that will be played across four days.
Aug 1st – Aug 17th – Macau Poker Cup
For the truly international players among you, there is the Macau Poker Cup. The PokerStars Macau Poker Cup will bring a good selection of events but the main attraction will of course be the two big ones in the HKD$11,000 Main Event and HKD$80,000 High Roller starting on the 8th and 14th of August respectively.
Aug 8th – Aug 10th – UKIPT London
The UK & Ireland Poker Tour will also be bringing an event in August. There is just the one event at the Hippodrome Casino in London, the £275 No-Limit Hold’em which is to played across three days. You can expect many of the country’s top players to be in attendance, as well as some well known PokerStars Team Pros.
Aug 10th – Aug 17th – GUKPT Coventry
The very same day as the UKIPT London event finishes is the start of the second Grosvenor UK Poker Tour event of the month. This one is in Coventry and is an eight day event with a prize pool guarantee of £250K.
Aug 16th – Aug 27th – EPT Season 11 Barcelona
Easily the biggest poker event set to take place in August is that of the European Poker Tour Barcelona. The season opening stop is sure to attract a wealth of players, especially as the Main Event will be the 100th one ever held on the tour. Along with that Main Event will be both a High Roller and Super High Roller event too.
Aug 31st – Sep 1st – GUKPT Leeds
Finishing the month off will be the final GUKPT stop for the month. This one will see the usual one event in the £550 No-Limit Hold’em being played across four days before the players start looking towards September for their next events.
