Yesterday saw plenty of action on the high stakes tables at both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker as three players recorded profits of over $450k. Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies took down his score whilst plying his trade on the $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha tables at PokerStars, which is also where Rafi “refaelamit” Amit earned his daily profit. Gus Hansen as an ambassador for FTP obviously recorded his winnings at the site on the $2/$4k Fixed limit Omaha Hi/Lo tables.
Hansen has had a poor time of it lately having lost more than $700k since the re-launch of the site, yet yesterday saw him change his table type as he went back to his old favourite where he is actually millions to the good.
He was taking on “SallyWoo” and played for a good four and a half hours, by the end of the session he was up to the tune of $446k. He also undertook a little spell at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables against the player he lost a lot of money to yesterday and clawed around $28k back.
PokerStars saw two big winners yesterday as the action on the $200/$400 tables was back in full swing. Both Ilari Sahamies and Rafi Amit recorded similar scores to the tune of $$454.4k and $459.5k respectively.
Amit took a good slice of his profit in an early morning session when he was up against “barcode”, Sahamies and ‘patpatman”. He took down $170k during that session whilst he also took down a huge pot when he hit a full house to take a pot of $170k. He went on to add to that haul as the day progressed, making him PokerStars biggest winner of the day.
Sahamies too won in the morning session as he banked $80k to set his day off to a good start, in fact most of his money was one in the space of just 13 hands. He then left and returned after a five hour break where he continued right where he had left off, taking another $300k on the Pot Limit Omaha tables.
The biggest pots of the day were actually won by none of the big winners, with “patpatman” actually taking down the two biggest of $245.7k and $229.4k. The first one saw him flop the nuts against Sahamies and the second was a fortunate bluff on the turn which produced a gutshot straight on the river against “Sauce123”.
Despite those big pots, “patpatman” had an up and down day, which is not rare for him. Though he did turn a profit in the end it was not enough to put him amongst the day’s top earners.
