Yesterday, the World Series of Poker did something they never have before by awarding a player an honourary bracelet. That player was the hugely popular and respected poker professional Chad Brown who has recently been moved into hospice care after his year long fight with cancer took a turn for the worse.
News of Chad Browns’ deteriorating condition has seen many players and fans share their sadness through Twitter. Initially however, it was misreported by Doyle Brunson that Brown and actually passed away before people realised he was still fighting.
Just heard Chad Brown passed. Such a nice guy ! #rip

@Downtownchad all my love and respect to you Chad. You are an inspiration.
If anyone was the rightful owner of an honouree bracelet, it would certainly be Chad Brown who has come close to winning one in the past with a second and third place finishes but just not being able to go that one step better.
The WSOP hosted the ceremony yesterday and there is not one person in the poker industry that would begrudge such a wonderful gesture.
The ceremony was well received by the many that attended.
