It is great to see that there are a large number of poker professionals that love to do their bit for charity and give something back. Matt Stout is certainly included among them having been involved in charity work since his teenage years. He has always wanted to set up a charity poker tour and his dream has finally come to fruition this year.
The Charity Series of Poker will start today on the 6th of July at 5pm at Planet Hollywood, with the event being a $300 buy-in No Limit Hold’em affair that also offers players the chance to buy-in and add on for $100 a time. Half of the generated prize pool will go to the Three Square Food Bank which helps to feed the hungry throughout Las Vegas.

Stout has managed to attract a large number of high profile poker professionals to attend including the likes of 2013 WSOP Main Event winner Ryan Riess, Michael Mizrachi, Mike Matusow, Matt Glantz, Matt Salsberg, Tony Dunst and PokerStars Team Pro Chris Moneymaker and hopes that many more will also come and take part.
He specifically scheduled the event to coincide with the opening day flights of the World Series of Poker Main Event, knowing that many players will be in town and will be able to play in either Day 1a or Day 1c of the Main Event and still catch this worthy charity event.
He has also worked hard to promote this event in months gone by and is obviously hopeful that there is a good turn out to help those in need in the area.
