Danny Robison Passes Away

RIP on cross

In sad news we have just learned that another of the original poker stars has recently passed away. Danny Robison was a World Series of Poker bracelet winner and was widely regarded as one of the best 7 card stud players of all time.

He originally moved to Las Vegas back in 1973 and was the best friend of another legend in Chip Reese. In what has turned into poker legend was the fact that the pair of them turned up initially to play just a weekends worth of poker with a bankroll of $800 between them. They were so successful at taking half day shifts each that the weekend eventually turned into two and a half years with the original bankroll being built up to around $2 million.

This earned them the nickname “The Golddust Twins” with it believed that everything these two touched turned to gold.

Robison has always been a larger than life poker professional and even after the passing of his good friend Reese, he was still a regular on at the Commerce Casino in California playing in some of the biggest stakes 7 card stud games around.

At this time we are unsure how his death came about and we will be sure to let you know as soon as more details become available. All we know is that the poker world has again suffered a massive loss and it will be a quieter place without his personality.
