Just to further prove that the European Poker Tour are planning massive celebrations for the 100th EPT Main Event, they have organised DJ Roger Sanchez to play a three hour set during the EPT100 celebration party in Barcelona.

Sanchez is not only one of the biggest names in electronic music the world over but has also won a Grammy award for his popular style of music.

This party will be kicking off on the 20th of August at 10.30pm, the night before the start of that milestone 100th Main Event. The party will be at the Theatre Principal which can be found on Las Ramblas boulevard in the city and is being sponsored by PokerTracker.

All players from both the European Poker Tour and partnering Estrellas Poker Tour are welcome and will be welcomed with an open bar for the first couple of hours in the stunning 19th century building. Once the open bar is closed, the venue will be open to the public whilst the players will be able to head to the VIP area.

Edgar Stuchly who is the President of the European Poker Tour hared his joy at being able to attract a performer of the caliber of DJ Roger Sanchez after he said:

“We are absolutely thrilled that Roger Sanchez will be helping us celebrate the 100th EPT and also thank PokerTracker, the Official EPT Poker Tracking Partner, for sponsoring the event. EPT100 is one of the most important milestones in our history and we are getting ready to host a record number of online qualifiers. I suspect that Sanchez’s performance will prove an even bigger incentive for players trying to win their seat in the tournament.”

Electronic music is a firm favourite among poker players these days, with many heading to the EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) in Las Vegas during the World Series of Poker.

Sanchez has worked with some of the biggest names in music such as Diana Ross, Madonna and Daft Punk and is known globally as one of the pioneers of house music. This makes him easily the biggest star to ever perform at one of PokerStars parties on the European Poker Tour.

As for the poker in Barcelona, it all gets underway on the 16th of August with the Estrellas Poker Tour first and then followed by the many EPT events afterwards. That Main Event as stated above will start on the 21st of August, though there will be a number of starting day flights so that those with hangovers from this party can start the event a day later.

We already cannot wait for Season 11 of the European Poker Tour to get started, especially this season opener that is to be full of celebrations and fun.
