Just last night one of the most recognisable faces in poker Doyle Brunson took part in his first ever AMA (Ask Me Anything) over at PokerAtlas. Brunson is deservedly known as the Godfather of Poker having been a massive part of the games growth from where it began to what it is today and for one time only fans were able to ask him anything they wanted.
We have included a few of the questions and answers that were delivered but to catch the full session you should really check out PokerAtlas.
Q.) What is your favorite WSOP event?
A.) This is Doyle. My favorite WSOP event is the 50K mixed game.
Q.) What is the funniest thing you’ve ever seen anyone bet at the tables?
A.) The funniest thing I ever saw was when a guy peed on a dealer. In the old days when the mob guys were here, they thought they could do whatever they wanted. He was one of the mob guys.
Once the session was over Brunson then went on to answer as many of the other many questions that were fired at him during the session. These were posted an hour after the session to allow those that may have asked questions to get the answers that they were looking for.
Q.) Do you think poker is gambling?
A.) No. It’s a game of skill. In the long run, the best player will win. I’ve never had a losing year in 60 years.
Q.) What was the biggest pot you ever won?
A.) 700 and something thousand. And that was 30 years ago.
Q.) Do you play online?
A.) Not now. I did a little bit, but not a whole lot. I had my own online site, and I played there quite a bit. But I never played in any of the really big games. I just didn’t trust them because it was too easy for people to collude.
The AMA really did let everyone into the life of Brunson and he revealed quite a lot from his past and what he feels about the game today.
