Full Tilt Poker yesterday announced that both Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom have both been snapped up to be ambassadors for the site alongside Gus “broksi” Hansen. The ambassadors have already been given a collective name as “The Professionals”, with the two newest recruits set to reignite their own fierce rivalry of old, playing on the high stakes tables at the site.
Sarne Lightman, who is the Head Of Marketing for Full Tilt Poker stated “Everybody who knows anything about poker knows that Tom is one of most respected as well as one of the most feared players around today. He started out on Full Tilt Poker and his exploits on them created a huge following for himself throughout the poker community, we are absolutely delighted to be getting that action back”
Dwan himself said “I am delighted to be rejoining Full Tilt Poker; I have been getting excited about the re-launch for some time now, even more so now. I think Full Tilt Poker when it is run well is an extremely important aspect of online poker”
With regards to Viktor Blom, he only left PokerStars a couple of months ago through a mutual termination, though he already now has another sponsorship deal. He said “I always really loved to play poker on Full Tilt, the site was where I initially made my name and is where I earned some of my biggest ever wins. When they approached me I knew straight away that it would be the right move for me”
Both players are massive online poker players, especially with regards to the high stakes cash games. Back in 2009 they even regularly battled against each other, which the railbirds loved to see on the site. Though throughout their careers, they have both had contrasting results as Dwan is up over $2.4 million on Full Tilt whilst Blom is down around $2.6 million throughout his career.
The rivalry is set to be re-ignited and the Full Tilt management really could not be much happier about it. Lightman said “Poker has evolved and will continue to evolve; Full Tilt has always been right at the front of those evolutions. We have decided to choose three players who each have their very own unique styles which have all had a massive impact on modern poker and how it is played today.”
The pieces are all falling into place at Full Tilt Poker, with just three weeks to go until the re-launch, everybody, including us are starting to get very excited.
