On the same day that the winner of the European Poker Tour Barcelona Super High Roller was revealed, the Main Event kicked off with the first of its two opening day flights. Day 1a saw 518 players hit the felt for this hugely anticipated event, though just 308 of them saw themselves make it into Day 2.
Kevin Vandersmissen, Chanracy Khun, Bryn Kenney, Vanessa Selbst, Scott Seiver, Dominik Nitsche, Marcel Luske, Andrew Lichtenberger and Jonathan Duhamel were just a select few of the big names that progressed into Day 2 which starts on Tuesday, but it was Dragan Kostic that finished up with the overall lead thus far with 215,000 chips in this €5,300 buy-in event.

Bertrand Grospellier and Seth Berger were easily the biggest eliminations on the day, with both now consigned to having to wait for another shot at an EPT title this year. It is still early in the season, so there is plenty of time to make some big scores for both of them.
