The European Poker Tour Barcelona is finally here with the first event being the €50,000 Super High Roller. Day 1 was played out last night with 49 registrations recorded, though ten of those were re-entries. This can still improve as players are still able to buy-in before the start of Day 2, which we are expecting a few at least.
The day finished with just 37 of those registrations remaining and Sandor Demjan sitting at the top of the chip counts with names like Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand Grospellier, Steve O’Dwyer, David Benefield and Erik Seidel all chasing him down.
A good score here for the likes of Negreanu and O’Dwyer will see them push further up the Player Of The Year awards such as the Global Poker Index rankings, so we expect some real fireworks as this event progresses.
Got super lucky to end the day with 441k. #EPTBarcelonaSHR

Of the players that re-entered on Day 1, there was Jeff Rossiter, Philipp Gruissem, marc Andre Ladouceur and Tobias Reinkenmeier, so they will certainly be hoping for a good score here now that they have paid out €100,000 to take part.

Day 2 will start up at 12pm in Barcelona today with the re-entry period finishing as soon as the first cards are dealt. With so many big names in the action, this is a great way to see the European Poker Tour start up its tenth season.
