Day 2 at the European Poker Tour London High Roller was a long and drawn out affair for the players, simply because the increased attendance over the field from the last time this event was held meant that the initial aim of reducing the field conveniently down to just eight players was not possible.
The day started with 74 players, with that number somehow hoping to be whittled down to just the final table, yet that was never going to happen even though they did get fairly close.
In the end the Day finished with nine players heading into Day 3 with Carla Sabini finishing at the top of the chip counts with 1,346,000. She has a slender lead over both Jason Lavallee and Sorel Mizzi with the rest of the field still a danger to the three of them.
The money bubble was also burst on Day 2 with it being revealed that the prize pool for the event was £1,538,600. That was to be shared among the top 23 players only, meaning that there would be plenty of unhappy faces throughout this day.
Among those that will be heartbroken at not reaching that illustrious final table, but will be thankful that they reached the money include Victoria Coren, Philipp Gruissem, Mark Rodoja, Max Greenwood and David Baker.
So I’m 20th for £19,385. Sorry to be unlucky and out, but very pleased overall, of course. Thanks for all the support.

For those that fell without even making the money there was Erik Seidel, David Benefield, Paul Volpe and the eventual money bubble boy Jonathan Duhamel. These players will now most likely be heading over to France for the World Series of Poker Europe which has just started up today.
