As the Eureka Prague Main Event finished up in one room the European Poker Tour Main Event took its place as the main poker attraction in Prague after a large field of 385 took to the felt at the Hilton Prague in order to try and become the final EPT Main Event winner of 2013.
After ten long levels it was Tiberu-Florian Georgescu that finished up as the days chip leader after bagging and tagging an impressive 191,100. This gives him around a 20k advantage over Ari Engel who sits in second place currently. He leads the 219 survivors from Day 1a and they will all now have a day off whilst Day 1b plays out at midday local time today.
172.8k to end day 1a. Will come back to 4/800 #eptprague

There were plenty of big names on show as you would always expect for an EPT Main Event including the likes of Team PokerStars Pros Jake Cody, Jonathan Duhamel, Vanessa Selbst and Johnny Lodden as well as notables like Jeff Rossiter, Steve O’Dwyer and Roberto Romanello. Unfortunately out of all of that lot only Duhamel and O’Dwyer managed to make it through, whilst the rest of them were eliminated throughout the day.

Be sure to come back again tomorrow as we expect an even bigger field than the one on Day 1a and plenty more notable players such as Daniel Negreanu.
