Another 381 players registered for the PokerStars European Poker Tour Sanremo Main Event yesterday in Day 1b, bringing the combined total thus far up to 556 for the event. This number can still grow as registration is still open right up until the start of Day 2 later today.
The players had to survive another eight levels of play and come the end of them it was David Yan that was just edging it at the top of the chip counts with 179,100.
Also doing well enough to find themselves in the top ten were notables Gaelle Baumann and PokerStars Team Pro Johnny Lodden. They are all now in strong positions for when the surviving players from the opening day flights get together for the first time in Day 2.

Also among the 226 survivors from Day 1b were the likes of PokerStars Team Pros Vicky Coren, Mickey Petersen, Liv Boeree, Bertrand Grospellier, Nacho Barbero and Victor Ramdin. They will have obviously impressed their sponsor and will now look to improve further still on Day 2.
End of Day One! After a small spate of end-of-day action, I’m through with 94k (average is 50k). Yay, a good day’s work, I’m very happy.
Not all of the notables were so lucky though as Ludovic Lacay, Yann Dion, Martin Finger, Ole Schemion and PokerStars Team Pro Marcin Horecki all fell to the wayside on Day 1b.
