EPT Vienna High Roller Day 1 – Andreev Leads

stacks of chips

The rise of the High Roller continues on as Day 1 of the EPT Vienna High Roller brought in a whopping 171 registrations. This means that Vienna has already beaten Deauville and London which brought in a total of 115 and 157 players respectively and with registration still open until the start of Day 2 later today there is a chance it could beat the 176 and 180 at both Prague and Barcelona respectively.

The day finished with 80 players and Andrey Andreev leading the field on 338,400 chips but in a High Roller there are always quality players throughout the field. In the top ten alone there is PokerStars Team Pro Theo Jorgensen and Philipp Gruissem lurking.

Further back we have Sam Trickett, Stephen Chidwick, Dominik Nitsche, David Vamplew, Max Silver, Toby Lewis and PokerStars Team Pros Bertrand Grospellier, Eugene Katchalov, Jonathan Duhamel and Alex Kravchenko too.

Of the biggest names to fall on Day 1 were Steve O’Dwyer, Sergio Aido, Kimmo Kurko, Dan Cates and PokerStars Team Pro Maxim Lykov. They will now be looking ahead to the EPT Monte Carlo coming along soon enough.

Day 2 starts at 1pm local time in Vienna and we expect to see a number of new faces such as Gus Hansen, Viktor Blom and many more. Could this High Roller be a record breaker? You will have to come back and check our report on the action tomorrow.
