EPT Vienna Main Event Day 2 – Trisch Leads 189 (vids)

WSOP chips

Day 2 of the European Poker Tour Vienna Main Event is now in the bag after the 492 players that did enough to start the day after the opening day flights were cut down in size to just 189. Surging to the top of the chip counts on Day 2 was Christien Trisch who will be delighted to have amassed 568,000.

He has more than 100k on the likes of Artur Koren, Ali Abdalla and Marko Neumann in the places just below him and will now go into Day 3 confident that he has what it takes to make it into the money.

He will still be more than aware that there is still plenty of work to be done though, especially with names such as Vladimir Geshkenbein, Sam Trickett, Gus Hansen, Stephen Chidwick, Viktor Blom, David Vamplew and PokerStars Team Pros Johnny Lodden, Marcel Luske progressing into Day 3.

Though the remaining field is looking extremely tough it will be considerably weaker now that the likes of Sergio Aido, Gaelle Baumann, Olivier Busquet, Dominik Nitsche, Ole Schemion, Kevin MacPhee and PokerStars Team Pros Liv Boeree, Theo Jorgensen, Jan Heitmann, Eugene Katchalov and Maxim Lykov hit the rail.

Day 3 will see those players return to the felt knowing that if they can survive the day they will have made a nice return on their original investment. The top 135 players will make the money whilst the eventual winner is set to bag €816,000. Join us tomorrow for a recap of the action from Day 3.
