We already mentioned yesterday that we were expecting this Eureka Prague Main Event to be big, as we knew there were already 400 names that had pre-registered for the second flight of Day 1 to be added to the 366. That would have been at least 866 combined entrants to the event beating the previous record last year of 644. This already meant that this was going to be the largest Eureka Poker Main Event held in Prague.
What was to come though was even bigger as there was an astonishing 949 players that bought into Day 2 meaning a grand total of 1,315 to become not only the largest ever Eureka event, but also the largest EVER poker event in Prague.
Almost as spectacular was the fact that over just 10 hours that field of 949 had been whittled down to just 286. Leading that field was Erik Soderhold after he claimed 264,600 to have him around 20k ahead of PokerStars Team Pro Marcin Horecki who finished in second place on the day.
Finished #Eureka day 1B with 237k. 62k average. Now playing Omaha HiLo NL

Horecki wasn’t the only PokerStars team Pro in the field either as Mathias De Meulder, Christophe De Meulder, Alex Kravchenko and Henrique Pinho also entered and made it through with varying chip counts. Other big names heading into Day 2 included Joe Keuther, Martin Finger, Kent Lundmark, Kevin MacPhee and Chris Moorman.
109.9k in the bag and on to day2! #eurekaprague

Not all of the PokerStars contingent was so lucky though as we lost Dale Philip, Martin Hruby, Mickey Petersen and Juan Manuel Pastor were eliminated along with the likes of notables in Max Silver, Ana Marquez, Kimmo Kurko and Shannon Shorr.
Busted an hour before end of day. Bloke limped UTG. I shoved button with 33 for 14BB. He called off half his stack with 66. GG #EurekaPrague

Many of the players would have been treating this event as somewhat of a warm-up for the EPT Prague Main Event which gets underway on Thursday, so the ones who were eliminated will not feel overly upset.
The survivors will now join their fellow Day 1a survivors into Day 2 where we will witness the field play down into the money.
