FPS Main Event Deauville Day 2 – Ropert Leading Final 80

stacks of chips

Day 2 of the France Poker Series Main Event was played out yesterday with the 472 players that had come through the record opening day field having to once again attempt to progress into Day 3 and the money at the same time.

The day finished with 80 players in total with each of them knowing they are now safely in the money as the top 143 players were to get a share of the prize pool.

Topping the chip counts currently is Corentin Ropert after his haul of 1,053,000 was enough to slightly edge out Payam Ansarian on 1,049,000 to become the events chip leader for the start of Day 3 today.

The majority of today’s eliminations walked away with nothing but there were 63 players that had the misfortune of being eliminated but with the fortune of at least making the paying places.

The biggest names to be eliminated from this event on Day 2 were the likes of Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand Grosspellier, Dominik Nitsche, Antoine Saout, Matt Frankland, John Eames and Anton Wigg.

With the FPS High Roller also getting underway today and the European Poker Tour Deauville Main Event starting up tomorrow however, they have plenty of other possibilities at making some money yet.
