GUKPT Grand Final Kicking Off On Saturday

The largest UK poker tour is coming to an end this month, with the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour hosting its last event of the year and of the tour, starting this weekend. The GUKPT Grand Final is to be held at the Victoria Casino in London on Saturday with it being completed on Sunday the 2nd of December.

There will be a large array of events, side events and of course satellites into the big main event for players to take part in. The Main Event will actually kick off on the 30th of November, with the buy-in being £2,500 with an expected prize pool of more than £500,000. Last year’s winner was Fabian Quoss who overcame a tough final table and even tougher heads up session when up against Jake Cody.

The Main Event will play over three days with each player having to navigate one hour levels and starting with a stack of 25k chips. This is certainly the event that many local players and even international poker players have been waiting for in the UK, with it always proving to be the most popular stop on the GUKPT circuit.

The First Events!

Saturday sees the first of a host of satellites into the Main Event, with the first real event coming on Monday next week. The event is the £200 + £20 No Limit Holdem Freezeout, which is a re-buy event meaning that players can buy back into the event if they are eliminated during the first few levels.

Tuesday then sees the £250 + £25 No Limit Holdem 6 – Max Freezout, which again offers a re-buy function. It will run for two days and have a cap of just 102 players.

Wednesday sees the start of another re-entry event with it this time being in the shape of the £350 + £35 No Limit Holdem Freezeout.

Thursday allows Omaha players the chance to win some money as they offer the £250 + £25 Pot Limit Omaha Freezeout.

The action then really gets underway on the Friday with the Main Event kicking into action, before we see a few more big events over the next couple of days. On Saturday there is the £500 + £50 No Limit Holdem Freezout two day event.

Sunday then brings another two re-buy tournaments with the £100 + £12 No Limit Holdem Freezout 6 – Max event and the £150 + £50 + £15 No Limit Holdem Big Bounty event. Both of these events are again re-buy occasions and will last just the one day. The Big Bounty in particular is expected to be very popular with the extra money available.
