Gus Hansen has been back in the thick of the online action for a few weeks now, and after a slow start he has begun to take down some hefty wins with yesterday’s performance seeing him improve on recent performances, to take away $405,163 after 8 sessions and 576 hands on the Omaha Hi/Lo tables.
So far this year Hansen is $3,018,414 down on his luck at Full Tilt Poker’s online cash games. The story did look a lot worse as he was initially heading towards a predicted $4 million loss. It was bad news as Hansen, also known as for being a ladies man, was online poker’s biggest loser, but 2 days ago he slid out a $210,480 profit from the virtual felts and added to that yesterday with another 6 figures this time, almost doubling the previous day’s amount with a $405,163 win. Hansen is now $909,089 up in a month’s worth of grinding and if he keeps going in the right direction, we could see him wipe out a large portion of his losses.
On the flip side of the nosebleed Full Tilt cash games another Scandinavian player, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, who was off on a 6 figure rampage but in the opposite direction to Hansen. Blom was in for $405,163 by the end of the day after leaking cash on the Omaha Hi/Lo games, eventually losing a total of $439,498 from all styles. This month the Swedish pro has not been looking good at all and even posted on Twitter a few days ago whether he could get paid for being a pro Mario Kart player.
does anyone know if you can make a living as a mariokart pro? considering my options
— Viktor Blom (@ViktorBlom) August 20, 2013
Blom lost $80k of his losses continuing the dual of wits that has been going on quite regularly as of late, versus his heads-up table foe “Sanlker” on the $500/$1,000 CAP tables. Kyle “cottonseed1″ Hendon also took Blom for a ride on the FLO8 tables. Hendon is now the top earner for 2013 and has maintained his position amongst the top 3 spots for several months now. He is currently sitting on a $3,800,132 profit, which is $1 million more than second place.
More misery was dished out Blom’s way courtesy of the day’s big winner Gus Hansen and that pretty much summed up the difference between the two pros’ day at the tables.
