When it comes to the high stakes poker action found on PokerStars, there are players that have obviously done well this year and others that have struggled. Andreas “Skjervøy” Torbergsen and his friend and rival Gus “broksi” Hansen are two of the players that have had rather disastrous years so far, yet yesterday they both managed to claw some of their losses back with profits over $100k each.
Hansen was playing at the Omaha Hi/Lo tables against a few of the usual suspects on the high stakes scene such as “patpatman” and the ever aggressive “FakeLove888”. He played a session of just over five hours, seeing around 800 hands of which he managed to win a handsome $144k doing so. He did lose a little on the $50/$100 Pot Limit Omaha tables shortly afterwards but still banked $123k for the day.
It would seem that Hansen should stick to the fixed Limit Omaha Hi/Lo tables for the time being as almost all of his losses this year have come on the PLO tables. He is known as one of the best players in the world at Omaha Hi/Lo, winning around $4.5 million online at this discipline during his career.
Torbergsen on the other hand made his money on the $50/$100 Pot Limit Omaha tables in a session in which he played over 2000 hands in the morning. He was up against regular high stakes players such as “EireAbu”, “St1ckman”, “Vaga” and “Gozoboro”. He eventually walked away from the session $132.3k up which will have been a relief as he has recorded large losses so far this year. He needs to keep it up though if he wants to pull himself out of the red for the year.
Losers Of The Day!
Surprisingly there were not too many big losers of the day, in fact nobody lost over $100k. The biggest loser of the day was mightily close to that figure though as he lost $97.4k playing the Fixed Limit Omaha tables. “FakeLove888” was that player, however he has since almost won it all bag the last time we checked.
It was a fairly quiet day on the high stakes tables which is probably the main reason we didn’t have too many big losers. This was confirmed with the biggest pot of the day also being much lower than usual, it was a pot won on the $50/$100 NLHE tables and was won by “limmouse” in a hand versus “altiFC” for a total of 58k.
