ISPT Hooks Up With Sam Trickett And The WSOP.com Starts In Brighton This Week!

With the first tournament of the international Stadiums Poker Tour being staged at Wembley Stadium in England in May next year, the ISPT have decided to bring English poker star Sam Trickett on as an ambassador.

He has followed Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi by becoming the second poker playing ambassador for the series. The event is scheduled to start on the 31st may 2013 after the local council gave the green light to let the tournament be played, whilst Wembley confirmed the booking.

The tournament is set to be one of the biggest ever held in the world, and most certainly the biggest in the UK, they are hoping to attract around 30k players to the stadium.

Sam Trickett actually announced his decision to join the tour on his own twitter account, stating that he was happy to be a part of something that could be monumental. Additionally the ISPT will be very grateful to have acquired such an up and coming poker pro, Trickett having finished runner up to Antonio Esfandiari in the WSOP Big One For One Drop tournament and walking away with over $10million.

That payout put Trickett on top of the UK all time career earnings list, though if he manages to win the projected 20 million Euros on offer in this event, he will probably end up on top of the biggest earners in the whole world.

If this event does happen, which as each week goes by it looks more likely, we will here to keep you up to date on how it all pans out. With 30k players and such a huge prize pool, we will sure have our work cut out, though anything that is good for poker is certainly good for us.

WSOP.com Summer Series Is Underway In Brighton!

The tournament is already up and running at the Rendezvous Casino on the Brighton seafront, with the Main Event set to start on Saturday. The Main Event is a £200 buy-in affair that has a modest prize pool of £12,000.

Though it cannot compete with many of the world’s larger events, it a good shoe in for players that maybe want to make a step up in their poker careers. Having personally spent a lot of time at this casino over the years, I know that it is certainly able to host such a good event.

Additionally there are plenty of other side events that will be suitable for players that want a cheaper alternative, though the main event will be the one that most want to take down.

We will bring the results as and when we know them ourselves, if you live nearby, why not head down there to see some good quality poker action.
