2013 has hardly been the best of years for Phil “Polarizing” Ivey at the online poker tables, with him spending most of it amongst the year’s biggest losers. Up until around two weeks ago he was sitting with almost $3 million in losses at the tables, but has since then reduced that to just under $2 million.
$500k of that has come in the past two days alone as he yesterday recorded another profit of $232.3k. This came after actually falling down to losses of $147k on the day before, gradually winning them back and pushing himself back into profit.
He was playing at the Fixed Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, 2-7 Triple Draw and 8 game tables over at Full Tilt Poker in a number of sessions throughout the day. Most of his winnings came at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables, though with him playing up against the likes of Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond and “Kagome Kagome”. In that particular session he netted himself around $225k before adding another $40k at another Triple Draw table he was playing at the same time.
He was not the biggest winner throughout this period though, as that accolade went to “wilhasha” after he took home $240.7k at the tables. This was achieved over at PokerStars on both the $50/$100 and $200/$400 No Limit Holdem tables. He was up against the likes of PokerStars Team Pro Isaac Haxton, and Alex “Kanu” Millar and beat them both to record his daily profits.
The Days Largest Pots
There were two huge pots on the day and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom was involved in both of them. First he won a pot of $228.9k against “IReadYrSoul” when his pocket tens held up, and then he lost a $276.9k pot to the same opponent when he tried to bluff the pot on the river, only for his opponent to have a set of deuces.
Blom actually finished the day with a profit of $100.3k but that was at the cut off point before midnight, since then he has actually lost that and is on around $100k of losses. The only other big winner yesterday was that of Doug “WCGRider” Polk, with his winning coming from his Heads Up Challenge against Ben “Sauce1234” Sulsky at Full Tilt Poker.
