The third instalment of the ever popular PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online poker has been playing out for the last few weeks, with the series this time around bringing prize pool guarantees of $15 million spread across the 50 events that were played out. Those guarantees were expected to be beaten however and they sure were, as the true figure eventually reached a combined total of $23,322,941.08 for 2014.
The events brought out the very best that the poker world could offer and resulted in massive winners and even the first ever triple COOP winner. Shaun “buck21” Buchanen became the first player to win events in the WCOOP (World Championship Of Online Poker), SCOOP (Spring Championship Of Online Poker) and now in the TCOOP after winning the Event #22 Razz Turbo tournament for $14,714.50.
We came very close to another first too with Andrey “Kroko-dill” Zaichenko needing just a TCOOP victory to complete the first ever grand slam on PokerStars. He has already won the Sunday Million and has titles in both the WCOOP and SCOOP and found himself making another deep run in Event #47 in the TCOOP.
He managed to get himself on the final table and would have been thinking he could pull it off, but he could not get much further and fell in 9th place for a cash of $24,984.00.
Among the other big performances by the world’s best known performances was Dan “Danny98765” Smith adding to his $5.6 mil in live career earnings by winning Event #17 for $125,146.32. Also in Event #4 we had a one-two of big names as Sam “KingKobeMVP” Stein overcame Kevin “ImaLuckSac” MacPhee heads up to win the title and $48,616.7 first place payout.

TCOOP Event #49 – $700 No Limit Holdem Main Event Turbo
The PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online Poker was eventually completed on Sunday night/Monday morning with the Main Event being one of the last to get played out. It had attracted a huge field of 4,600 players and eventually finished with a 6-way deal on the final table.
Among that field were around 25 PokerStars Team Pros with the likes of Liv Boeree, Jonathan Duhamel, Jake Cody, Johnny Lodden and Nacho Barbero all taking their chances on this one. None of those could make the final table though and it was left to “Riverlan_88” to claim the title and take home his $277,526.55 slice of the huge $3,059,000 prize pool.
