Poker has changed a lot since it first became available over the internet and technology played a critical role in its ever-growing popularity. Players use it routinely to hone their skills, push their career into overdrive or simply enhance their gaming experience. Marc Kennedy is one of the beneficiaries of these technological advancements, but he took it with a pinch of salt instead of embracing it unconditionally.
One of his top priorities is to keep his heads-up display up to date with the latest innovations, as this is the most useful tool for poker professionals. Marc takes great pride in the tech he uses and even has a special computer dedicated exclusively to poker. The other reason for why he has a custom made system for poker is to mitigate the risk of getting his account hacked or PC infected with malicious software.
Another technological breakthrough that changed his life for the better was the introduction of “Rush poker”which is equally popular with poker pros and amateurs. Kennedy didn’t jump on the bandwagon right away though and was initially put off by the new type of game. One year later he gave it another chance and got hooked to it, nowadays being one of the most successful “Rush Poker”players.
Recreational players were immediately attracted to this type of poker and that’s why those professionals who embraced it early had a lot to gain. The feeding frenzy is long over, but Marc has the skills to compete against the very best in this line of work and he has no intention of forsaking “Rush Poker”anytime soon. The same goes for his HUD, which is an invaluable tool that he claims to be one of, if not the best technology that any poker player competing over the internet uses right now.
Kennedy doesn’t consider himself a tech-savvy individual, not even one fascinated by gadgets, especially if they are not useful to poker players. He admits that he only recently started using a smartphone again and he would rather play cards or backgammon with friends than video games. As for his poker system, Marc uses a single monitor albeit a big 30″ high resolution one and rarely needs a second monitor.
Overall, Kennedy is a big fan of technological advancements, if these improvements are aimed at making the lives of poker players easier and boost their profit margins. There are times when technology backfires and doesn’t run as intended, but in the great scheme of things, these occasional failures are not significant enough to outshine the numerous benefits.
