The British Poker Awards happened last night and from the looks of things, it appears that it was a rousing success. Many of the winners (and losers) took to Twitter to send out their comments on the festivities. Bluff Europe, the sponsor of the British Poker Awards, was also active on the social network, issuing regular tweets with pictures of the winners.

The first award was a no-brainer for anyone involved in the local U.K. Poker scene.

U.K. Tournaments and leagues were also honoured with their own mention.

Of course, the big awards were those featuring the players. The main categories this year were Best Live Cash Player, Best Live Tournament Player, Best Online Tournament Player, Best Online Cash Player, and the Player of the Year. Sam Trickett took down the first two and had this to say.

Famed British player Chris Moorman won the award for Best Online Tournament Player, but it was Alex Millar that would have the highest honours this year. Not only did Millar win the Best Online Cash Player award, but he also was crowned with the largest win of the evening.

One other award of note was Barney Boatman’s Lifetime Achievement award. After years of play, Boatman recently won his first WSOP bracelet.

With the celebration at its finale, Bluff Europe posted two more tweets to top off the night’s success.
