This week saw the end of the first ever online UKIPT poker festival, with the Main Event now paused for a little while until the final table gets played out live on the 7th of November. Whilst the leader on the final table is the Uruguayan ‘zugzwang16”, there is some hope for us Brits as there are two still in contention.
The £770 NLHE event originally attracted a field of 587 players and with there being just eight remaining they will each be guaranteed a payout of at least £6,163.50 whilst also each winning a free seat in the £770 UKIPT Main Event to be held in Bristol.
Each of these 587 players had big ambitions of getting to that live final table, especially knowing that they would also earn a free seat in the Main Event at the same tournament. For that reason, this event managed to attract some big names in the poker scene.
Those of them that managed to make the money yet failed to get onto that final table included David Vamplew who is both a former winner of a UKIPT event and a European Poker Tour title holder, Marc Wright, the UK’s highest ranked online tournament player Chris Brammer and John Eames.
Though each of these just failed to make the cut, Chris “Moorman1” Moorman did make it to the final table; he is currently in third place on the leader board. The second Brit Ben “gs08bjohnson” Jenkins is the table short stack but he will still be in with a chance as he is not too far away from those directly above him.
The rest of the table also contains some big names that have had some excellent achievements in poker, such as PokerStars Sunday Million winner Daniel “danloulou” Smyth, the current chip leader “zugzwang16” who will now have to travel all the way from Uruguay, and “piper_kl88”.
Whoever manages to win the tournament is set to bank a total of £77,126.03, which is definitely well worth the work that they have put in. We have listed the final table below, though the seat draw has yet to be established. As the action came to an end online the blinds were at 7,000/14,000 with an ante of 1,750.
The Final Table Of The Online UKIPT:
1. zugzwang16, Uruguay, 1,530,528
2. piper_kl88, Germany, 1,524,837

7. komisch99, Germany, 369,562
