We mentioned on Saturday that it was the 40th birthday of PokerStars Team Pro Daniel Negreanu and that he had planned to celebrate it in pure style. Well judging by the tweets and pictures surfacing, it seems that the party was certainly one to remember for both him and the lucky ones that were able to attend.
Negreanu wanted to celebrate hitting such a landmark age in his life in as much style as possible and would have been delighted that it fell on a Saturday this year as it meant that the majority of his guests would be able to make the time away from their busy lives.
He had already received a flood of birthday greetings from fellow players, friends and fans via Twitter throughout the day, but the real celebrations were still yet to start.

The true celebrations were held at the Marquee Nightclub in Las Vegas where Negreanu had previously advertised that anyone was welcome. That was true to his word as both friends, family, fellow professionals and fans alike all took the time out to make an appearance in honour of the birthday of one of pokers living legends. The five time World Series of Poker bracelet winner seemed happy to take pictures with anyone that asked and looked to be having a great time. You can see from the following tweets and pictures that the likes of his poker agent Brian Balsbaugh and fellow pros Maria Ho and Gus Hansen were in attendance and we are pretty sure there were many other big names from the industry too.
We reserved one tweet for last simply because Matt Savage seems to be alluring to what many of us are fairly certain will happen, Negreanu being inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame this year after now reaching the minimum age of 40.
There really is nobody else that is eligible that deserves it anymore than him and it will be a travesty if it does not happen. If the saying that life begins at forty is true, it is difficult to imagine how it could get any better than what life must have been like for Negreanu in the last decade.
