Negreanu Wants Characters Back In Poker

Daniel Negreanu

It seems that this “Poker is dying” debate is set to continue for sometime after PokerStars Team Pro Daniel Negreanu expanded on the whole issue via Twitter. Negreanu did not agree with Joe Hachem’s comments that the game of poker is dying, which of course initially started this debate but he did agree with the sentiment of what his fellow professional was saying about the game needing characters and personality.

His tweets go on to say that poker first boomed back in the day when there were big personalities on the television in cash games and tournaments. It was these personalities rather than the game itself that first attracted viewers, who then went on to become players themselves.

He has always been against the game being too serious and always insists there should be an element of fun in order to not scare off recreational players.

Take a look at his tweets below and start to anticipate his latest video blog on the subject.

Once he got that all off his chest he revealed that he also has plans for another video blog/rant in the future about what his plans are going to be for this year’s WSOP. The schedule for the 2014 WSOP was also released last night giving players a chance to see what will be on offer.
