PCA Super High Roller Day 2: Shak, Selbst Leading (vids)

Vanessa Selbst

Day 2 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Super High Roller has just come to an end with there now being just seven players remaining. The day actually started off with Martin Finger leading the 40 players that had done enough to progress this far, but come the end of a tough 11 levels it was a Dan Shak topping the chip counts with 3,700,000.

He wasn’t too far ahead though as PokerStars Team Pro Vanessa Selbst was right behind him on 3,645,000.

Also in the remaining seven were big names such as Antonio Esfandiari, Matt Glantz and Ole Schemion, so this final table is going to be incredibly tough when the action resumes later tonight.  The final seven will be returning to battle it out until there is just one player left and despite there being a number of short stacks, everyone will feel they still have a good chance at the first major title of 2014.

With 40 players starting and just 7 remaining it meant that we had to lose a large amount of players on Day 2, with each of them being a top class player in their own right. Among them were PokerStars Team Pro Daniel Negreanu, Bryn Kenney, Max Altergott, Philipp Gruissem, Justin Bonomo, Steve O’Dwyer and the only player of them to cash in Mike McDonald in 8th place for $217,320.

Day 3 will commence later alongside Day 1a of the Main Event which is also going to attract our attention over the next couple of days. Be sure to check in regularly for the latest updates on all of the action at the 2014 PCA.
