Phil Galfond Scores A Pretty $390k

The action was high tempo yet again over at the high stakes tables of the two biggest online poker sites PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker over the past couple of days, with the majority of the best action coming at the $1,500/$3,000 2-7 Triple Draw tables at FTP.

Easily the biggest winner over this period was Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond, with him securing a nice earner of $370k for his FTP account. He was playing against some of the usual suspects at the tables with “punting-peddler”, “trex313”, “mastrblastr”, Patrik “FinddaGrind” Antonius, “Isildur1” and the master himself Phil “Polarizing” Ivey.

Early on during this period it was actually looking like it could be Viktor “Isildur1” Blom was going to finish with the most profits as he was up to $330k at one point. In a typically up and down day, the Swede ended up losing $180k to Ivey, then returning for another session to lose another $184k to Ben “Sauce1234” Sulsky. That meant all of his previous hard work had been undone and he was back to where he started.

He did claw some of his losses back though to complete his roller coaster of a period, finishing up with $82k profits by the time we are writing this article. Can he keep it up? We guess we will find out over the coming days.

The Largest Pots!

Part of the reason Blom lost a lot to Sulsky was due to some badly timed bluffs, these were in fact part of some of the biggest pots found through this period. He lost $115.2k in one pot when he bluffed the river once it had paired, only to see Sulsky call him with the goods.

Yet another bluff on the river by “Isildur1” after he misses his open ended straight draw sees Sulsky call yet again with pocket aces to take the $99.2k pot. This resulted in Sulsky being the second highest earner during this period, with him securing $184k in total.

The biggest winner over at PokerStars was “SleepvsMe” took down $142.8k at the mixed game $400/$800 tables. He finished the period as the third highest earner ahead of both “GSinishtaj” and “Isildur1” with $91.8k and $82.5k respectively.
