The PokerStars Super Tuesday was back to its tricks again yesterday as the event once again managed to bring in more than double the players required to break the guaranteed prize pool of $300k. There were 657 that parted with $1,050 to take part in the event and that brought a figure of $657k to be shared out among the players that managed to finish within the top 81 places.
There were once again plenty of big names for the virtual rail to cheer on as we saw the likes of EPT Barcelona champ Tom Middleton, Bryn Kenney, Ben Tollerene, Michael Tureniec and Chris Moorman getting themselves into the action.
In fact the latter made the final table and came ever so close to adding another title to add to his $10 million in online tournament earnings. He eventually fell in 5th for $35,083.80 and will no doubt be happy enough with that.
The eventual winner however was a rather unknown player by the name of “PikkuHUMPPA”. He scooped the title after competing on a very tough final table that not only included Moorman but also two other well known pros in Jason “jdtipoker” Wheeler and Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron. They both fell in 4th and 3rd respectively as “PikkuHUMPPA” powered through the final table after a three way deal to secure his payout of $107,028.89.
He beat “AtlasC” heads up when the final hand fell saw both players put their chips into the middle with “PikkuHUMPPA” holding the Ac-Jc and “AtlasC” the Ah-Kd. The latter was just ahead at that point but not for long as the board landed as the 6d-10d-Jh-8d-5s to hand the Finnish player the title.
