We may have been spoilt for poker action throughout the summer with the World Series of Poker but for many players that could not make the trip over to the states for various reasons, there has only been one event on their minds.
That event is finally here folks; the eleventh season of the European Poker Tour has now got underway in the city of Barcelona. It has been a long wait but we are sure it is all going to be worth it with an action packed schedule of events to keep us entertained for the most part of this month.
The first events are that of the partnering local tour in the Estrellas Poker Tour with the EPT events kicking into action during next week. Day 1a of the Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event was played out yesterday and Day 1b is playing as we speak as it gives players the perfect opportunity to get warmed up for the more important events coming.
The first of those will be the €50k Super High Roller which starts on Monday coming, an event that is going to attract pokers elite professionals to the felt for the first big tournament of Season 11.
Then after that is the big one with the Main Event becoming the 100th in the EPT’s history on Thursday next week. It is sure to be surrounded by celebrations, parties and promotions for the players who will all be looking to be the 100th winner on the tours history.
The last major event of the Barcelona stop will be the €10,000 High Roller on Monday the 25th. This will be the last chance for players to secure some serious money and will once again attract a large and high quality field.
Many players have tweeted of their arrival or impending arrival to the city in recent days, all looking forward to that 100th Main Event on the tour. You can just feel the vibes and excitement from the players who have waited a long time for the tour to kick back into action.
