Monday 19th May 2008 Haxton confirms WSOP participation
Isaac Haxton has become the latest poker professional to confirm his place at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas this summer.
Haxton told readers of his Card Player blog that he will be at the card playing extravaganza right from the start - even though it means having to miss out of the celebrations for finishing university.
"I'm skipping the graduation ceremony so I can be out in Vegas in time for event one of the WSOP," he said.
Haxton has not placed highly in a major tournament since last year's WSOP but will be hoping to change all that come the end of May.
Last year he made more than $150,000 from finishes in three tournaments, including a 94th in the main event.
The biggest prize cheque of his career came from the World Poker Tour Caribbean Adventure tournament in 2007, where he finished second, earning over $860,000.
