Lee Jones Joins CardRunners

Instructional poker website CardRunners.com has announced the appointment of industry veteran Lee Jones as its new Chief Operating Officer.

CardRunners.com stated that Jones would be responsible for overseeing quality control and directing a staff of poker professionals including Brian Townsend, Cole South and Eric Liu in producing downloadable strategy videos.

'Everything about CardRunners.com is a great fit for me,” said Jones.

“Taylor, Andrew and Brian are all scary smart young men, they’ve got a great business model and they are having fun building a business. Joining them enables me to get back to my real love in poker, which is the game, teaching and discussing it.”

CardRunners.com stated that Jones has the perfect skill set for both online poker and education. After receiving an undergraduate degree at Duke and a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, he spent 25 years in the computer business. It was during these years that he began playing poker at California casinos, producing the book Winning Low-Limit Hold'em in 1994.

He joins CardRunners.com from the television world of the European Poker Tour (EPT) where he worked as Executive Host. Before that, he worked as Poker Room Manager for virtual casino PokerStars.com for over three years, helping to grow the site from a young start-up to one of the world’s largest Internet concerns.

'I will also be looking after our customer support, which is a subject near and dear to my heart,” said Jones.

“If I learned one thing at PokerStars.com, it was that if you take good care of your customers and make them wildly happy, everything else will fall into place.'

“Lee's name is synonymous with integrity and reliability, which are vital to a young business in a rapidly growing industry,” said Taylor Caby, Co-Founder of CardRunners.com.
