WSOP Event #4, $5,000 Mixed Hold'em: Lindgren Wins First Bracelet

While David Singer was exorcising his WSOP demons across the room, Erick Lindgren managed to get rid of his own. 'E-Dog' has cashed over $6m in tournament wins, as well winning two WPT titles. Now he's also got his very own poker bling, winning the $5,000 Mixed Hold'em event against a tough final table line-up which included David Williams, Isaac Haxton and Howard Lederer.

The night got off quickly for Lindgren as he knocked out Isaac Haxton on the second hand. All of the chips found their way into the middle as the two players took part in the classic poker race; AK for Haxton, pocket queens for Lindren. When the board bricked out, Haxton ended up taking home $35,109 for his ninth place finish.

Next out was Pat Pezzin, after he was unfortunate enough to find his AQ dominated by the AK of Robl. No suckout here, which meant the Canadian pro had to settle for eighth.

First of the big names to go was David Williams, runner up to Greg Raymer back in 2004. Williams got his chips in with the best of it, as his A3 was ahead of David Rheem's KT. The ten on the flop left the Bodog pro drawing to the remaining aces, none of which arrived on the next two streets.

A huge limit-hold'em hand saw the end of the road for Howard Lederer. After being three-bet by Justin Bonomo, Lederer called with pocket fours. Bonomo bet in the dark as the flop came down 5-2-K. Lederer moved all in, and got the call from Bonomo's AQ. The five on the turn and king on the river left The Professor's pocket pair counterfeited and out in sixth.

Overnight chip leader David Rheem went out next, and with the elimination of De Wolfe and Robl in fourth and third respectively, heads-up play between two pros seeking their first WSOP bracelet got underway.

The duel lasted forty hands, with Bonomo's chip lead being wrestled from him by the experienced pro in the limit rounds. The final hand saw Lindgren turn a straight against the two pair of Bonomo, and when Lindgren faded the full house draw, he picked up his first bracelet and $374,505.
