WSOP Delivers Yet Another Professional Poker Player

Eric Brooks is a name which many people will be looking out for in the future after he took the WSOP, World Championship Seven Card Stud event to the wire and bagged a $415,856 prize pot and a converted golden bracelet. Eric Brooks came from nowhere to defeat Fu Wong, but Wong still goes home with a very respectable $259,910 – not bad for a few days at the table!<br /> <br /> As WSOP continues to gather a head of steam we are seeing a new era of Poker players coming through, leaving many of the older players in their wake. This is the beauty of WSOP, the fact that new names and new Poker professionals are born everyday. When you consider that Brooks took on and beat the likes of Erik Seidel, Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu it puts his achievement very much into perspective.<br /> <br /> Eric Brooks now has high hopes for the future and may even use part of his winnings to purchase himself a seat at the main event. Whatever Brooks decides to do he can be sure of a great welcome when he returns home with his bag of ‘loot’. But will he be able to take his good form into the next event?
