More Action In The WSOP House

As the World Series of Poker (WSOP) championships move into the final stages, prior to the final main table later in the year, we saw another golden bracelet walk out of the door when retired police detective Dan LaCourse took control of Event 42, the $1,000 Seniors No-Limit World Championship. But do not be fooled into thinking the older crowd are any slower than the new kids on the block! The event attracted a record 2,200 players and after two days we were down to the final table where Dale Eberle and Dan LaCourse were heading the leader board. Even though some of the earlier events saw major changes in the leader board at the final table it was these two who were left to slug it out at the end. As LaCourse found his way to the finish line, he banked a worthwhile $368.832, while second placed Eberle ‘had to make do’ with $235,141. Whether any of these two will go onto play at the main tournament remains to be seen. While the seniors area of poker is often overshadowed by the array of new young talent attracted to the sport, there sure is life in the old dogs yet!
