Tran the Man wins WSOP bracelet

Poker pro JC Tran has finally picked up one of the few accolades missing from his collection, a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet.

Tran won the $1,500 (£750) no-limit hold'em event, taking the first prize of $631,053, and increasing his total tournament winnings to over $6 million.

Victory ended his reputation as one of the best players not to pick up a bracelet at the WSOP where he has sat on final tables six times.

He started the final table second in the chip count behind with 26-year-old Rasmus Nielsen.

The heads-up play came down to Nielsen and Tran, with Tran holding less than half the chips of his opponent.

However, it was Tran who claimed victory after chipping away at Nielsen's stack and eventually finishing him with two-pair after turning K-Q to the Dane's Q-J.

To date, Tran has had 19 money finishes in the and holds one World Poker Tour title.
