Tuesday 1st July 2008 PokerStars Announce the 2008 WCOOP Schedule
While the brick and mortar warfare wages in Las Vegas, PokerStars has released the schedule for the 2008 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP). One of the richest poker tournament schedules in the online poker world, the 2008 WCOOP will feature events with buy-ins as high as $25,000.
The series of events will see PokerStars guarantee a minimum of $30 million across the WCOOP, with $10 million guaranteed in the WCOOP Main Event alone. They will also be putting up a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million for the $25,000 buy-in Heads-Up event.
The 2008 WCOOP kicks off on September 5th with a $215 6-Max NL Hold’em event and will last a total of 17 days. With 33 events to choose from and a whole manner of ways to satellite into them, it’s going to be another big summer over at ‘Stars.
