PokerStars.tv Goes Live

A new video site offering live webcasts of major events and a unique collection of high quality poker footage has gone live at PokerStars.tv after successfully completing its beta testing.

A subsidiary of Isle of Man-based online casino PokerStars.com, the interactive portal contains free poker instruction, video reporting and coverage of many past events along with interviews and profiles of top players.

”PokerStars.tv brings players closer to the action with live coverage and video blogs from the biggest events on the European, Asia Pacific and Latin American Poker Tours,” read a statement on PokerStars.tv.

“Channels like EPT live, featuring live action from the European Poker Tour, interviews, highlights and expert commentary set a new standard in online poker broadcasting.”

The site has a host of free features and an emphasis on tuition through interactive videos with contributions from Team PokerStars.com professionals such as Joe Hachem, Daniel Negreanu Greg Raymer, Dario Minieri and Bill Chen. There is also a comprehensive search function to help users find a range of topics and situations.

'Just enter a hand like 'jack-jack' or 'ace-king' and you can find out how it's been played in all sorts of different situations by some of the world's great and not so great players,” said Negreanu.

“It's a terrific way to learn more about the game.'

PokerStars.tv also provides player profiles and promotional content including video reportage on PokerStars.com events and those in which its sponsored players have an interest.

'Our goal was simply to build a site that allowed us to see our favourite poker clips at any time and that's what PokerStars.tv allows you to do,” said Conrad Brunner, Head of Television and Digital Production for PokerStars.tv.

“There are some outstanding poker hands to watch and enjoy. With the excellent video blogs flooding in from the World Series of Poker, there is new material being added every day.'
