When Poker Became Too Much For One Player

A poker player from Edmonton, Canada lost his cool recently and ended up in court with a 12 month ban from any casino in the country. So what exactly happened?

Hon Van Tran, 34, lost his cool during a late night poker game at the Yellowhead Casino where the money was building as high as the tension. It seems as though there had been friction between Hon Van Tran and his alleged victim and this got worse as the night wore on.

Towards the end of the evening it was alleged that Hon Van Tran lost a large poker hand, and words were exchanged with his alleged victim. Hon Van Tran was then reported to have left the poker area and moved to another part of the casino, where he proceeded to call his victim on the telephone for assistance.

As the victim walked out the poker area he is alleged to have been hit by a flying fist, knocked to the ground and then hit over the head with a beer bottle. A number of scuffles then broke out before the casino security arrived on the scene to calm the situation. While this is not a common occurrence in the casino world, perhaps it is safer playing online!
