Pace Slows As The Main Tournament Rolls On

The pace at the main event of WSOP 2008 has slowed considerably with players now happy to sit out some rounds and watch the action. Down to the final 189 players the pressure is starting to build with many players now dreaming of making a name for themselves and more than happy to bide their time going in big on quality hands. <br /> <br /> However, it has to be said that there are a few players seemingly in a rush to get near the top of the leader board. Some of these players have crashed and burned going all in on sub-standard hands knowing that if they can pull it off they will be able to sit back and watch the action. Even those eliminated on Saturday are guaranteed a pay cheque of no less that $38,600 with Sundays players set to receive yet more. The final 9 players will be announced late Monday / early Tuesday with games going on well into the night and tournament officials having to call breaks to give players time to rest. <br /> <br /> WSOP is not just a tournament, it is literally your life for the duration of the event with entrants eating, sleeping and playing poker literally 24 hours a day, 7 day a week – but for $9 million it is well worth the effort!
