Bar Room Poker Taking The US By Storm

While the authorities battled to take away the right of each and every US citizen to play poker online, it seems as though they may have a greater fight trying to stop the public playing poker tournaments in bars up and down the country. So what will happen? Will the police step in? Or will the laws be changed?<br /> <br /> Even though the US government took the centre stage when online poker was banned, they do not have a real interest or even any real power when it comes to state by state gambling laws. This has intensified speculation that even though bar room poker is technically illegal in many states, the laws may well be changed.<br /> <br /> Much of the increased popularity of late has been created by the WSOP event which is currently coming to an end, prior to the final in November, but the trend has been up for some time. At the moment it seems that many law enforcement agencies are turning a blind eye to these technically illegal games, but many people are pushing for more. The pressure for formal changes in the law to allow bar room poker is growing and it will take a brave politician to stand up against the American citizens looking to reclaim their rights.
