The Dream Of Tim Loecke Is A Lesson To Us All

For those who play poker never even dreaming that they might hit the top one day, take a look at the story of 37 year old Tim Loecke. He is a Staples employee from Highland Park but he has been one of the shining lights at this years WSOP 2008 main event. While Loecke did not make it through to the final table, his story is sure to prompt more poker players to believe in the dream. The dream for Tim Loecke started some months ago after he turned a $63 qualifying game into a seat at the main poker event of the year, the WSOP 2008 main event. Faced with having to fight his way through near 7,000 players to get to the money stages of the event, Tim Loecke fought like a dog to drag himself into the final stages. However, with just 9 places left in Novembers’ final he succumbed to the pressure and dropped out in 22nd place on Monday evening, within touching distance of the ultimate dream. However, when you consider that he turned $63 into a $257,334 prize cheque, the man from Highland Park can have no regrets.
