Russian-speaking players 'on the increase'

More and more poker enthusiasts from Russian-speaking nations are signing up to play the game online, it has been suggested.

According to Titan Poker, its website is proving so popular with eastern Europeans that it has elected to offer its services in Russian.

The language joins the host of other dialects already available on Titan Poker, including English, Italian, Spanish, German and French.

Russia has been mentioned increasingly in the poker press over the last few months, thanks partly to the enormous success of Alexander Kostritsyn, winner of the 2008 Aussie Millions.

Alexander Kravchenko, Kirill Gerasimov, Ralph Perry and Ivan Demidov are also noted players to hail from the country.

Demidov will return to compete in the final table of the World Series of Poker main event in November, while Perry has also had success in recent weeks, making it to the last day of the World Poker Tour Bellagio Cup IV.
