Tilly and Laak hit Poker Million rail

One of poker's most famous couples Jennifer Tilly and Phil Laak failed to make it through the first round of the Ladbrokes Poker Million this week.

Tilly was drawn against a tough table in featuring the likes of Jeff Kimber and Ciaran O'Leary in her heat.

Matchroom Poker reports that Marius Hogten was the eventual winner, with O'Leary in second place.

Meanwhile, Laak was eliminated from his heat, which also contained top UK female Vicky Coren.

Liam Flood came out on top in that one, beating Ian Cox into second.

Hogten and Flood go through to the semi-finals, where they join the Boatman brothers Barny and Ross, Jonus Danilsson and Ryan Fronda.

Two of the UK's most successful poker players, Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott and Roland De Wolfe, will compete later this week.

Ulliott has won a World Series of Poker bracelet and a World Poker Tour (WPT) title, while De Wolfe also has silverware from the WPT circuit, as well as a European Poker Tour trophy.
