I love poker, claims Gunn

Poker is one of the favourite pastimes of burgeoning comedy star Mike Gunn.

The stand-up told the Metro he has a "love" for the game, like many other comedians.

"A lot of comics play poker," he remarked.

"I play on this Sky TV show where people at home compete against you."

Gunn has been making a name for himself on the comedy circuit over the last few years after stints supporting some of the genre's biggest stars, such as Alan Davies and Jo Brand.

He joins a long list of comics to have been seen playing cards on television, which includes the likes of John Thomson, Dave Gorman, Tommy Tiernan and Jason Alexander.

Gabe Kaplan is perhaps the most successful comedian-come-poker player.

He has made final tables at the World Poker Tour and come 13th in the World Series of Poker main event, while balancing his cards activities with performing stand-up.
