Casino Arizona To Host State Poker Championship

For those big players looking to grab a slice of the big bucks currently on offer in the poker industry, the Fourth Annual Arizona State Poker Championships, hosted by Casino Arizona, might just be the start of something good. Widely regarded as one of the more popular competitions in Arizona the event is sure to capture the eye of some of the big names in the sport – some of whom are on a break from the final table of WSOP 2008.<br /> <br /> The event is set to attract the highest number of competitors in the events short history and the $650,000 prize pool (up from $500,000 in 2007) seems to be helping. The winner will take away an impressive prize of $193,500 and the first 60 players will all take a share of the pot.<br /> <br /> The event is a $1,000 buy-in with a $50 fee and while entries are still being accepted up until the 16th August it looks as though numbers will not be a problem, even in the current economic environment. It will be interesting to see who actually turns up at the event with all of the big names showing interest at a time when the profile of poker has never been higher.
