iPhone Poker Is Hitting The Spot

Griffin Technology has released a surprisingly addictive poker game for the iPhone which is proving even more popular than Griffin expected! The ‘5 card draw’ game sees players take on a $1,000 virtual betting fund and receive 5 cards on the screen. It is then up to the player to decided how much money to bet and which cards to trade in for a hopefully better draw – players are allowed to trade in all 5 cards for a new hand or they can stay with the hand they are dealt. Sound familiar? The game is simple, the graphics are very impressive and the game play is very very addictive although the low betting amounts from $1 to $5 does take the shine off it a little. There have been rumours about a poker game for the iPhone for some time with many expecting a real money alternative at some stage. The fact that the iPhone is the most popular handset ever built gives poker companies the perfect route to what is a massive new market. Poker is reaching out into more new and exciting markets each year and the rise and rise of WSOP has done wonders for PR over the last few weeks.
