Jonathan Kalmar Returns Home Empty Handed

He hit the headlines last year when he managed to bag $1.28 million at the WSOP event but this year it seems that the luck has temporarily ran out for Chorley based Jonathan Kalmar. Better know by his nickname of Skalie, Jonathan Kalmar was the IT specialist come poker superstar who bought his mum a new house out of his winnings.<br /> <br /> While he returned home empty handed from WSOP 2008 he has certainly continued his winning streak over the last 12 months, bagging a couple of decent cash wins and still on the prowl for the next big one. He has left his job in IT to concentrate on poker fulltime and splits his time between the UK and Las Vegas where he regularly attends some of the larger tournaments.<br /> <br /> However, Jonathan will be making the relatively short trip to London in October for the next big tournament and then another date with Las Vegas will not be too far away. Jonathan Kalmar is a fine example of what the world of poker can do to someone who was relatively unknown. His life has changed dramatically over the last 12 months, his mum has a new home and all down to his skill across the table. If only it was that easy...........
